Privacy Policy
This starter Privacy Policy explains how Just Do It! (JDI) handles information for the JDI website, Windows desktop app, installers, and related services. Please review this draft with qualified legal counsel before relying on it.
1. Information you provide
JDI may collect information you choose to provide, such as account details, email address, profile information, onboarding survey responses, task information, feedback messages, support details, and screenshots or attachments you submit with feedback.
If you create or sign in to an account, JDI may process credentials, authentication tokens, Google sign-in identifiers, verification codes, and account recovery or deletion requests.
2. Information stored on your device
The desktop app stores task data, countdown timers, discipline score data, streaks, settings, selected AI model, local quota counters, and similar app state on your Windows device. If you save a Gemini API key, JDI stores it locally for use by the app and displays only masked key status in the interface.
Local data remains on your device unless you use a feature that sends it to a JDI service or a third-party provider, such as cloud AI, authentication, email verification, feedback, or support.
3. AI features
JDI can use cloud AI providers such as Google Gemini when you configure a supported API key or use an enabled cloud AI feature. Prompts, task context, audio transcription input, screenshots, or other content you submit to those features may be sent to the provider to generate a response.
JDI can also use local AI models through Ollama. When you use a local model, processing is intended to happen on your device through your local Ollama installation, subject to how you configure Ollama and the selected model.
4. Website, downloads, and communications
The JDI website may fetch release metadata, provide download links, and use browser storage for limited interface state such as release notices. If you contact us, submit feedback, use email verification, or use a website chat feature, we may process the content of that communication and related technical metadata needed to provide the service.
Installer downloads may be hosted through GitHub Releases, Cloudflare R2, or similar download infrastructure. Those providers may receive standard request information such as IP address, browser, device, time, and requested file.
5. How information is used
JDI uses information to provide and improve the app, operate accounts and authentication, send verification emails, respond to support or feedback, maintain safety and reliability, troubleshoot issues, enforce terms, and comply with legal obligations.
6. Sharing
JDI does not sell your personal information. Information may be shared with service providers that help operate JDI, such as hosting, email, authentication, analytics if later enabled, AI providers when you use cloud AI features, and legal or security recipients when required to protect rights, safety, or comply with law.
7. Retention and deletion
Local app data remains on your device until you delete it, uninstall the app, or clear the app data through available Windows or JDI controls. Account-related information is retained as long as needed to provide the service, resolve disputes, maintain security, or satisfy legal obligations. If account deletion features are available, you may request temporary or permanent deletion through the app.
8. Security
JDI uses reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information. No system is perfectly secure, so you should protect your device, account credentials, API keys, and operating system access.
9. Children
JDI is not intended for children under the age required by applicable law to use online services without parental consent. Do not provide personal information through JDI if you are not allowed to do so.
10. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted on the JDI website or included with the app, and the effective date will indicate when it changed.
11. Contact
For privacy questions or requests, contact the JDI maintainer through the project repository or the support/contact channel provided with the app.
